New Conversions

We convert campervans and motorhomes to your design. Based upon either brand new motorhome or window van specification vehicles direct from a manufacturer, we’re very happy for you to have as much say as you’d like in the conversion design.

Payloads

It’s always important to understand exactly how much you can carry in your vehicle, as overloading can be dangerous. All manufacturers publish a variety of weights for their vehicles and they are usually described as follows:

  • Gross Vehicle Weight – the overall maximum weight the vehicle can be without a trailer.
  • Gross Train Weight – the overall maximum weight the vehicle can be with a trailer.
  • Unladen Weight – the weight of the manufactured standard vehicle without any options & extras. This normally also includes a full tank of fuel and no passengers.
  • Payload – the maximum weight that can be carried in the vehicle. Basically this is the Gross Vehicle Weight less the Unladen Weight.

With the VW Transporter the numbers after the letter T denote the Gross Vehicle Weight;

  • T30 – 3000kg
  • T32 – 3200kg

Remember that any additional extras and options will of course add to your weight and thus reduce your overall payload, however, as an average passenger is assumed at 75kg, then with four passengers you will still have a considerable payload to take everything you’ll need for your trip.
