We convert campervans and motorhomes to your design. Based upon brand new window van vehicles direct from a manufacturer, we’re very happy for you to have as much say as you’d like in the conversion design.
It’s always important to understand exactly how much you can carry in your vehicle, as overloading can be dangerous. All manufacturers publish a variety of weights for their vehicles and they are usually described as follows:
With the VW Transporter the numbers after the letter T denote the Gross Vehicle Weight;
The payloads given below are based upon our standard Tiree, Taransay and Cromarty conversions and the Gross Vehicle Weights include the following;
Factory fitted extras & options
Necessities for your camping trip;
| VW Transporter Model | Jerba Conversion | Total Conversion Weight | Payload |
| VW T32 Short Wheel Base 102bhp | Tiree/Taransay | 2305 | 895 |
| VW T32 Short Wheel Base 130bhp | Tiree/Taransay | 2380 | 820 |
| VW T30 Short Wheel Base 174bhp | Tiree/Taransay | 2380 | 620 |
| VW T32 Long Wheel Base 102bhp | Cromarty | 2400 | 800 |
| VW T32 Long Wheel Base 130bhp | Cromarty | 2475 | 725 |
| VW T32 Long Wheel Base 174bhp | Cromarty | 2475 | 725 |
Remember that any additional extras and options will of course add to your weight and thus reduce your overall payload, however, as an average passenger is assumed at 75kg, then with four passengers you will still have between 200kg to 500kg of surplus payload to take everything you’ll need for your trip – that’s equal to around 10 to 25 cases that you might take on a flight for a holiday abroad!!
