45 or 68 Watt Roof Mounted Solar Panel

Solar Panel

Increase your Independence with Renewable Energy

Mounted on the roof of the Cromarty we recommend either a peak power 45 or 68 watt solar panel.

On the best sunny days these panels will produce 2.6amps per hour for the 45 watt and 3.9amps per hour for the 68 watt panel, however, perhaps a better measure is the average per day figure which gives a realistic power output on an average day - this would be 10.5amps for the 45 watt panel and 15.5amps for the 68 watt.

These size panels may be expensive, but we see little point in installing a smaller panel that will have a minimum impact on recharging the leisure battery. Lying flush with the roof the panel will charge the battery even on cloudy days - if you're camping without a 230v supply and not driving the vehicle, then outside of the darkest winter days the panel will give you an endless supply of charge to run your fridge, lights and water pump for everyday use.
