We’ve a small but growing fleet of new VW converted campervans. All easy to drive, easy to park and easy to reverse - ideal for the narrow Highland roads! All our vehicles sleep a minimum of four adults.
Standard Excess - All insurance cover is subject to a standard excess of £500. In the event of any damage to either the vehicle or third party property, the hirer will be liable for the first £500. The hirer will also be fully liable for replacement or repair of windscreen or tyre damage.
Insurance Loading - In some cases, Jerba Campervans will incur additional charges if the driver to be insured has a traffic conviction, is using a non-UK driving license or is in an occupation which is deemed high risk. These charges will be passed on to the customers.
Please note - the insurance provided by Jerba Campervans is exclusively for the vehicle and not for the hirer’s personal belongings. We recommend that you have your own insurance policy to cover your personal belongings.
Collision Damage Waiver at £20 per driver per day will reduce the excess for any damage caused in a collision to either the vehicle or third party property to £0. The hirer will however be fully liable for replacement or repair to windscreen or tyre damage. Applies in respect of each claim, not the Rental as a whole.
Please note that the Collision Damage Waiver Insurance is completely optional and can be decided upon at the collection of your vehicle.
There is a Security Deposit secured by Jerba Campervans through retaining your debit card or credit card details. On return of the vehicle to the agreed location, on the agreed date and time, in the same condition as it was let out to you, with;
Then Jerba Campervans will destroy your debit card or credit card details.
Where any of the above are not adhered to Jerba Campervans will pass on to the hirer a charge which reflects the extra costs incurred to return the vehicle to the original condition.
Note: Where the hirer has opted for the Collision Damage Waiver option, no excess will be charged in the event of a collision, but they should be aware that the Security Deposit will be used to fund any loss or damage whatsoever to equipment, fixtures and fittings or negligent damage to the vehicle.
Travel to European countries is only possible after prior agreement, as written confirmation from Jerba Campervans and additional insurance is required. There is an additional charge to cover European roadside assistance. If you wish to travel in Europe than we will calculate the charges for you on an individual basis.
Bedding - (quilt/sheet/pillow) £20 per person (per rental) – we have a number of double and single quilts, please let us know your preference and we will do our best to match it.

£2.50 per person per day, clean driving license (maximum of 3 drivers).
With points on license then a further £2.50-£10.00 per day depending on number and type of points.

On the first day of your rental, upon request and for a supplementary charge, we’re able to meet you at either Edinburgh Airport (£50), Glasgow Airport (£125), Dunbar Railway Station (£15), Rosyth Ferry Terminal (£70) or North Berwick Railway Station (free of charge). However, as we are only a small family company then due to limited staff this may not always be possible – but we will try our very best! Please call us to discuss charges and timing. Meeting at North Berwick station is never a problem and there are hourly trains from Edinburgh Waverley.
This depends on the season, but in May, June, July, August and September we try to keep to a minimum of 7 days and where possible starting at 2pm on a Friday and ending at 10am on a Friday. Please call us to discuss about other times of the year.

Availability is on a request and confirm basis at the time of reservation. A reservation is only binding after it has been confirmed by Jerba Campervans via email or post and a deposit of £150 has been received. Once the reservation is confirmed, an invoice will be issued by email or post for the remaining balance. Settlement of the remaining balance will be due six weeks prior to the departure date.
Payment of the main balance must be either by debit or credit card - this is a requirement of our insurers. There is no charge for debit cards, however, credit cards will be subject to a 2.5% charge (AMEX 3%). Cheques in Pounds Sterling and banker’s cheques are accepted as deposit payments only.
For late bookings (less than six weeks before departure) the full rental price is payable on booking and this payment must be made by either debit or credit card. Vehicles will not be released without full payment being completed.
We accept: Visa, Visa - Electron, Mastercard (2.5% charge), Maestro, Solo or AMEX (5% charge)
Jerba Campervans reserves the right to cancel a hire at the commencement of hire, if the driver’s license is invalid or is not according to the conditions set out in paragraph 10. In such circumstances the total hire charge will be forfeited by the hirer.
Collection - Please allow 1 hour for the hand-over at the depot - to complete the documentation and for us to show you around your vehicle. Please also allow the same on your return.
The hirer acknowledges delivery of the vehicle and the contents free from any defect or damage and complete other than as specified by the Jerba Campervans. The hirer is advised to check the vehicle thoroughly before leaving the depot.
Upon return we will check the vehicle for damage, cleanliness, etc., including the condition of the tyres and windscreen which are not included in the insurance cover, any such damage is the hirer’s responsibility.
Return - The vehicle must be returned on the date and not later than the time stated on the rental agreement. All vehicles must be returned to the depot of Jerba Campervans at the North Berwick address given in paragraph 11. No refund is given for the early return of the vehicle.
All vehicles must be returned clean and in the same condition as they leave the depot, please ensure that the portable toilet is empty and clean, one gas bottle is full, the inside of the van is in a clean condition and that the fuel tank is full - as laid out in paragraph 4 Jerba Campervans reserve the right to charge the hirer for failing to fulfill any these conditions.
Late return - If you will be late returning you must advise us immediately. An additional charge of £50 per hour will be payable for all late returns (the maximum daily additional charge will be the daily rental charge). Should the return of the vehicle make us liable for extra costs (e.g. compensation of the next hirer), then we reserve the right to pass on these costs to you.
Please remember that after you have returned the campervan we only have a short time to prepare it for the next people - if you're late then you wouldn’t want to be them!
During your period of hire, outside parking is available free of charge at the Jerba Campervans depot in North Berwick. Jerba Campervans, however, do not accept any liability whatsoever for the vehicles and contents left by the hirer. Your vehicle is left at our depot entirely at your own risk. We do ask that you do leave you keys with us is case of an incident where we may need to move your vehicle.
In the unlikely event of a breakdown Jerba Campervans subscribe to an emergency breakdown service which is at the disposal of the hirer. If you have a mechanical problem then please call us first - if we can’t sort the problem for you then we will contact the breakdown service.
The hirer is authorised to spend up to £100 on repairs, this will be repaid on submission of relevant receipts - please see Terms and Conditions for a more detailed description. Prior approval from Jerba Campervans must be obtained before any repairs are undertaken.
Smoking is not permitted in any of our vehicles, any damage repair costs or extra valeting costs caused by smoking must be paid for in full by the hirer.
