{"id":9199,"date":"2020-07-23T11:31:51","date_gmt":"2020-07-23T11:31:51","guid":{"rendered":"httpss:\/\/www.jerbacampervans.co.uk\/JerbaStaging\/?p=9199"},"modified":"2020-07-23T11:37:58","modified_gmt":"2020-07-23T11:37:58","slug":"jerba-gastrotour-philly-cheesesteak-with-roman-labat-from-down-the-hatch","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.jerbacampervans.co.uk\/JerbaStaging\/blog\/jerba-gastrotour-philly-cheesesteak-with-roman-labat-from-down-the-hatch\/","title":{"rendered":"JERBA GASTROTOUR | Philly Cheesesteak with Roman Labat from Down The Hatch"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"justify-text\">On this week\u2019s Gastrotour episode Top Chef, Roman Labat from Down The Hatch is the fourth chef to accept the challenge, cooking up this Philly Cheesesteak in the back of a Jerba Campervan.<\/p>\n<p class=\"justify-text\">In partnership with\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/business.facebook.com\/scotsmanfoodanddrink\/?eid=ARCPVZZEx5mZdRuAwwXcoEzw_RlpbCNPC1UKRaMynGWUJRdkqeNK0jqgH3V-E9at_mLlL8ndKGKC_gll&amp;fref=tag\">Scotsman Food and Drink<\/a>\u00a0we have been visiting chefs near the location of their acclaimed venues, where we challenge them to create simple, inspiring dishes using just the Jerba\u2019s in-built hob or hot-plate.<\/p>\n<p>The fourth chef is Roman Labat, of South Queensferry caf\u00e9 and bistro, Down The Hatch, which has become hugely popular with its insta-worthy North American influenced food,<br \/>\nmade using the best Scottish ingredients.<\/p>\n<p>He recreated its famed Philly Cheesesteak, using Orkney mature cheddar, rump steak and spices from Inverurie-based Angus &amp; Oink<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><iframe src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/G-l29CaiaqU\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>INGREDIENTS:<\/h2>\n<p>Ingredients:<br \/>\n200g sliced rump steak<br \/>\n1 green pepper<br \/>\n1\u20442 white onion<br \/>\n100g Orkney mature cheddar<br \/>\n2 baguettes<br \/>\n1 tablespoon of Montreal spice from Angus &amp;amp; Oink<br \/>\nA drizzle of olive oil<\/p>\n<h2>METHOD:<\/h2>\n<p>1. Wash the pepper and thinly slice the vegetables<br \/>\n2. Heat the oil in a frying pan on a medium\/high heat and add in the steak with the Montreal<br \/>\nspice<br \/>\n3. Once the steak has started to colour, mix in the pepper and onion<br \/>\n4. After the vegetables have started to soften, add in the mature cheddar<br \/>\n5. Cover the pan with a lid for a few minutes until the cheese has melted and then mix<br \/>\neverything together<br \/>\n6. Cut the baguettes and place them open side down on top of the food until they are<br \/>\nwarmed through<\/p>\n<p>7.
