Five fully belted seats for the journey. A 129cm wide double bed when you arrive. A kitchen with a two-burner hob, combined sink and a 62-litre compressor fridge with freezer box. And enough storage cupboards that you don’t have to leave anything behind.
The Barra is built on the medium wheelbase Crafter, 6.0 metres long with 1.96m of standing headroom throughout. It’s the most family-ready layout in our Crafter range, with the classic side-kitchen, rear seat on sliding rails that works as well on a weekend away as it does on a month long adventure.
Add the optional pop-top roof and the Barra sleeps four properly, two adults on the wide rear RIB bed below, two in the roof on a 115cm x 196cm mattress. Add the optional built in porta loo and you have everything you need to go anywhere, for as long as you like.

All New Volkswagen Crafter & Mann TGE Colours
The Barra is our most family-focused Crafter layout. It seats five for travel and has the widest rear RIB bed in the range at 129cm, making it the best choice for families. The Harris is built around a permanent fixed double bed for couples who prioritise sleeping comfort. The Mull offers flexible twin or double sleeping in a mid-size layout. If you’re travelling with children or regularly need five seats, the Barra is the right starting point.
Yes, the fully enclosed shower and toilet is available as an optional upgrade on the Barra. It’s located behind the driver’s seat in a 95cm x 65cm cubicle with a Thetford C200 toilet and full height shower. Hot water is provided by the Webasto Thermotop diesel system, giving instant hot water whenever your cold water tank is full.
Yes, the pop-top elevating roof is an optional upgrade on the Barra. It adds a double bed measuring 115cm x 196cm with a 90mm deep foam mattress, accessed by a folding ladder. Combined with the lower RIB bed, the Barra sleeps four comfortably.
The Barra is designed for the medium wheelbase Crafter at 6.0m, but the long wheelbase at 6.8m is available on request if you’d like additional space. Get in touch and we’ll discuss the options.
The Barra is built on the high roof Crafter as standard, giving 1.96m of internal standing headroom throughout the van. This is the optimum Crafter configuration for a campervan conversion and is standard across all our Crafter layouts.
The Barra gives you many of the same practical benefits as a family motorhome — five seats, standing headroom, optional shower and toilet, but in a van that drives and parks significantly better, costs less to run, and holds its value more strongly. It’s the right choice for families who want real capability without stepping up to a full-size motorhome.
