What is a habitation check?

A thorough inspection of the living area of your van.

Habitation checks are the best way to ensure your campervan is in a safe, roadworthy condition. Our specialist engineers follow a full inspection procedure covering gas, electrics, water, ventilation, fire safety and the underside of the vehicle.

You’ll receive full safety certification, and the option to have us fix anything we identify, so you can travel with total peace of mind.

Fully certified inspection of your entire LPG system, joints, regulators and appliances.

Water System Check

Tank, pump, taps, pipework and filters — cleaned, tested and pressure-checked.

Fire & Ventilation Check

Alarms, extinguishers and vent-paths verified to keep you safe overnight.

Electrical Safety Check

12v and fully-certified 230v inspection, plus a load test on your leisure batteries.

Underbody Check

Chassis, exhaust and undertray inspected for corrosion, damage or loose fixings.

How often should I get a habitation check?

We recommend a full habitation check every one to two years, depending on how heavily you use the van.

Do you check non-Jerba conversions?

Yes. We regularly service, inspect and certify campervans from many other converters, as well as our own Jerba builds.

How long does the check take?

Typically a full working day. We’ll walk you through everything we’ve found before you leave the workshop.

Do I get paperwork afterwards?

Yes. You’ll receive full safety certification, plus a clear report of anything we’ve identified and the option to have us put it right.
