Standard on every
Jerba conversion.

Every new elevating roof conversion we build is fitted with our own Jerba pop top. Two decades of refinement have shaped a roof that out-performs the alternatives on strength, weather sealing and longevity, and we now fit it across the full VW Transporter range and the new Ford Transit Custom.

One roof, the full range.

New: T7 and Ford Transit Custom

The arrival of the T7 Transporter and the new Ford Transit Custom gave us the chance to take everything we had learned over twenty years of building pop tops and apply it to a new generation of van. It is the same roof our customers already know, built to the same standard, with the same 100kg capacity, the same seam-sealed, midge-proof construction and the same removable Ventile canvas, now with the latest improvements to the canvas itself. Each version is engineered and tested by us for the new bodyshells.

Pop Top Features

Twelve details that make the difference.

100kg Carrying Capacity

Most pop top roofs cap at 60kg. Our 17mm fibreglass structure and uprated hinges and gas struts carry kayaks, canoes or a fully loaded roof box with ease.

Secure Roof Locking

A simple internal stainless rotary lock paired with webbing straps, kept in clear view so you always know it's engaged.

Tough Midge-Proof Mesh

A durable mesh that won't snag or tear, fine enough to keep the smallest Scottish midge out, with zip or velcro covers on every vent.

Highest Quality Gas Struts

Wider gauge, far stronger struts that resist rust and leakage, making opening and closing the roof effortless year after year.

Seam-Sealed Stitching

We invested in a complete seam sealing machine so every Ventile stitch is 100% watertight.

Fully Removable Canvas

Unzip and slide the canvas free in five minutes at home. Damage? Post it back to us, no specialist visit needed.

No Standing Water

Gently curved convex shape sheds rainwater every time, so puddles never form on top of the van.

Fully Unzipping YKK Zip

Watertight YKK zip, chunky gauge, won't catch or burst. Open the front for sun and a view, or remove the canvas entirely.

reduced Condensation

Swiss-woven 100% Ventile cotton, breathable yet wind and water tight. Used by NATO, a clear step above standard canvas.

2 Metre Closed Height

Fibreglass build with a sleek fixed nose cone, reducing wind noise and keeping the lines of your Transporter intact.

Optional Roof Bed

Beech-slatted bed (112cm × 190cm, 150kg capacity) flexes with you and lets air flow, ending the damp foam-board condensation problem.

Head Height in the Back

Raised fibreglass design leaves enough room for a comfortable roof bed and full adult head height in the rear travel seats.

Frequently Asked

Pop top questions answered.

Which vans does the Jerba pop top fit?

The Jerba pop top is designed for the VW Transporter T5, T6, T6.1 and the new T7, and for the current Ford Transit Custom. All are available in Short and Long Wheelbase, with front or rear elevation options.

Is the roof on a T7 or Transit Custom the same as the one on a T6?

It is the same roof in all the ways that matter: the same fibreglass build quality, the same 100kg capacity, the same YKK zip and Ventile canvas approach. What has changed is that each new generation of van gives us the chance to refine it. The mounting and aperture are engineered by us for each bodyshell, and we have recently improved the canvas again, so the newest roofs benefit from twenty years of continuous development rather than being a straight carry-over.

Can I buy the roof on its own as a DIY kit?

No. We only supply our pop top roof fully fitted by our team in North Berwick. This protects the warranty, the seal integrity and the safety of the install.

How long does fitting take?

Fitting typically takes around two weeks at our workshop. We’ll book you a slot in advance and keep you fully updated through the build.

How much weight can the roof actually carry?

Up to 100kg dynamic load on the roof bars, well above the typical 60kg limit. Plenty for kayaks, a roof box or two bikes.

What if the canvas is damaged?

Just unzip the YKK zip and slide it free, then post it to us for repair. No specialist call-out, no labour to remove it from your van.

Do you offer a roof bed?

Yes. Our optional Beech-slatted roof bed is 112cm × 190cm and supports a combined 150kg, with a 30mm dense foam mattress and removable cover.
