discover the Taransay

Compact camper, Spacious interior.

Most campervans put the kitchen along the side. The Taransay puts it at the rear, a generous full-height kitchen counter, with a three-burner hob, combined sink, and a raised 51-litre fridge at counter height for easy access. The result is a layout that feels noticeably more like a proper kitchen and less like a van with a hob bolted to the wall.

Up front, the two swivelling cab seats turn to face the rear, giving four people a genuinely comfortable social space around the tables. There’s room to sit, eat, and spend an evening in without feeling cramped, something the Taransay does better than any other layout in the Transporter range.

At night, the two 60cm wide RIB rear seats fold to form two single beds, each 185cm long, with options to slide together to form a 120cm double. Add the optional pop-top roof/ bed and you sleep four comfortably. Add the optional toilet cubicle, a rear wardrobe converted to an enclosed toilet space, and you have a genuinely self-sufficient short wheelbase camper.

“Compact on the outside. Surprisingly capable inside. This is the Taransay.”

Standard Campervan Features
Our standard Taransay conversion includes everything you need to set off on a trip — we don’t leave out vital elements. Your VW T6.1 campervan is ready for the road.
Belted seating for 4, tested to full Type Approval safety regulations. Two French-made RIB rear seats convert into twin singles (60cm × 185cm) or, with the optional slide system, form a double bed (120cm × 200cm). VW factory swivels on both cab seats and integrated headrests for comfort in travel and sleep.
Our exclusive in-house rear pop top elevating roof, closing to a maximum 2m in height. Breathable Ventile cotton canvas with stainless steel components — only fitted to Jerba conversions. A solid high-top roof is also available as an alternative on the Taransay.
Make it yours
Optional Campervan Features
We offer a wide range of optional extras on the Taransay. Explore some popular options below.

Toilet Cubicle

We can adapt the Taransay layout to replace the rear tall cupboard with a fully enclosed toilet cubicle — giving you a totally self-sufficient camper.

Elevating Roof Double Bed

Optional roof bed (112cm wide, up to 150kg) suitable for 2 adults or children — perfect for families or extra guests.

Cassette Toilet

Lightweight, easy-access cassette toilet that stores discreetly out of sight when not in use.

Awning Rails, Awnings & Sunshades

Discreet awning rail for quick attachment of freestanding awnings or sunshades. Larger wind-out awnings also available.

Leather Upholstery

Upgrade driver, passenger and rear seats to full leather. Choose from a selection of colours and stitch patterns.

Roof Rails & Roof Rack

Integrated rails with load capacity up to 100kg — carry kayaks, paddleboards or roof boxes even with the elevating mechanism.

Solar Panel

High-efficiency solar panel system keeps the leisure battery topped up — true off-grid freedom without driving or hook-up.

Webasto Thermo Top Evo

Blown hot air and continuous hot water from a diesel-fuelled heat exchanger — with optional rear shower.

Double Bed Option

A slide mechanism brings the twin rear seats together at night, converting into a 120cm × 2m double bed — perfect for couples.

Solid High Top Roof

Prefer a fixed solid high top instead of a pop-top elevating roof? On the Taransay this is no problem — full standing height inside.

Grill or Warming Oven

Add a grill if you can't go without your toast or crispy bacon — note it will cost a little cupboard storage.

Bike Rack

Versatile fold-down bike rack carrying up to 4 bikes on a tailgate or 2 bikes on double rear doors. Easy to use, no removal required.

Slide Window Midge Screen

Bespoke midge screens made to fit T6.1 rear slide windows. £5 from every sale is donated to ShelterBox.

Safe Box

Discreetly hidden 3mm steel safe with 8-lever lock. Large enough to store an iPad, passports and other valuables.

Wallas Diesel Hob & Heater

Gas-free camping with a single diesel fuel source — easy-clean glass surface, more boot space and reduced condensation.
