Covid-19

Since the outbreak of COVID-19 we have been closely monitoring the situation daily and assessing what this means for us, our customers and for the work we do.

Closely following government advice, we’ve introduced a schedule that allows our team to return to work in a safe and practical way. Creating a safe working environment for our team members has been our priority over the past couple of weeks as we look to ease lock down.

Equal amounts of thought and care have been applied to our plan for welcoming back our customers, so they can enjoy a tour of our workshop once again. Our workshop is at the heart of what we do and there’s nothing more exciting than taking a walk through and chatting camper vans.

Although things cannot go back to normal just yet we’ve put together several procedures to reassure that anyone visiting will be safe, protected and can enjoy the experience in a comfortable and exciting way.

We will be welcoming visitors back from the 1st July and we would, where possible, like to try to have this by appointment only please. We’ll ask you to call us from your mobile when you arrive and we’ll meet you at the door, however, if you don’t have a mobile or have a signal/battery issue then we do also have a door bell you can ring! Tours of the workshop will of course be very closely controlled to ensure both you and our employees maintain a safe distance. You will be allowed inside our campervans, but for the time being this will only be possible outside of the workshop. After every visit we will ensure any camper van in which a customer has been is cleaned thoroughly before the next visit.

Our customer meeting desk and area is now within the workshop, as this gives a large amount of free airspace which would not possible in our usual meeting room. It will mean though that it’s a little noisier than perhaps we’d prefer, but it’s also where more of the action is for you to watch! Our only really sad piece of news is that I’m afraid we won’t be able to serve tea and coffee to visitors until further notice – just when we’d bought some fancy new cafetieres!!

Below is a list of some of the key things we’re doing with the aim of keeping everyone safe;

  • Where possible all visitors by appointment only
  • Cleaning of campervan interiors after any visit and or customer demonstration
  • Roped customer area in open workshop with seating 2m apart
  • Designated individual work zones marked by roped areas
  • Hand sanitiser at entrance/exit points of all work zones and customer areas
  • Relevant staff to work at home where possible or stagger office times
  • Washable masks and gloves provided to all staff and visitors
  • Increased signage to remind everyone of social distancing & face/hand hygiene
  • Outside open area for staff breaks
  • Fixed teams for repeated tasks
  • Cleaning of communal equipment after every use
  • Designated specific arriving and leaving doors and pathways
  • Separate delivery entrance

*Latest Updates Will Appear Below*

19th June 2020 – “Following the Scottish Govt COVID-19 Routemap out of lockdown which was published at the end of May, the First Minister has now announced that indoor factories are allowed to resume work from Friday 19th June, so we’re excited to say that our workshop is now up and running again and we’re back working at full speed.

In early July we then plan to start to reopen for visitors – although we will need to ensure for everybody’s safety that all visits are closely controlled and the do’s & don’ts are clear and easy to follow! We’ll make sure our plans and actions for visitors are shown clearly on Facebook and our website.

We have put changes in place to both our workshop and working practices, that mean we are doing all that we can to create a safe environment for employees and visitors – it is vital to us that everyone who enters our premises both feels and is safe. For production to be maximised we will of course need all workshop employees on site, but as much as we feasibly can we will have our non workshop staff being home based and stagger times when they are in the office together in order to limit any possible Covid transmission,

Now our office is open again, if you have something to ask then don’t hesitate to ring us on 01620 890374, send us a query over the website or email us at info@jerba.co.uk

Wishing everyone all the best and we look forward to seeing you soon.

Very many thanks.

June 17th 2019 – “Following the Scottish Govt COVID-19 Routemap out of lockdown which was published towards the end of May, and the announcement from the Scottish First Minister on the 8th June about the likely further easing into the next phase, we have started a gradual reopening of our office and workshop from Monday 15th June.

After consultation with all employees, we are currently putting into place the changes to our workplace and practices that mean we are doing all that we can to create a safe environment for employees and visitors – it is vital to us that everyone who enters our premises both feels and is safe. With some time to prepare, we will be up to full production speed as soon as the next lockdown release phase is announced – which we hope will be announced for the end of this week. For production to be maximised we will of course need all workshop employees on site, but as much as we feasibly can, we will have our office staff being home based.

In early July we then plan to start to reopen for visitors – although we will need to ensure for everybody’s safety that all visits are closely controlled and the do’s & don’ts are clear and easy to follow! As soon as we have an exact date when we’ll be open for visitors then we’ll make sure it’s shown clearly on Facebook and our website.
