Crash Testing in Action!

The three videos below show the actual rear seat testing undertaken by Jerba Campervans within a T6.1 body shell. The first video shows a double/triple rear seat found in our Tiree and Cromarty conversions, the second video shows the two single rear seat/bed layout for our Sanna and Jura conversions and the final video shows the two single rear seat/bed layout but in our short wheel base Taransay conversion.

To undertake these tests we fitted the RIB rear seat/beds into a VW T6.1 body shell using our own designed and engineered underfloor fixing kits. The body shell was then fixed down to a testing rig at a Vehicle Certification Agency (VCA) approved centre and pull tested through all the seat belt anchorage points with a force that simulates an accident with an immediate stop at 30mph.

Jerba Campervans has also undertaken separate rear seat/bed tests outside of the vehicle bodyshell in order to test the strength of the foldable seat back mechanism and the integrated headrests when raised and in use – all these test were passed.

This is a standard test and is also undertaken by all major car manufacturers – it proves beyond any doubt that our method of rear seat installation is 100% safe.

We have also undertaken our own VCA monitored separate RIB rear seat/bed tests in order to prove the strength of the foldable seat back mechanism and the integrated headrests when raised and in use – all these tests were passed.
