Triathlon is a complicated, equipment intensive sport that is both physically and mentally challenging. All of this explains why I love it. Most people mistakenly think it’s three sports; swimming, cycling and running.
Physically, spiritually and biochemically, no sport delivers the sensations of wild swimming. At one level there’s the sense of a journey through a wild place, with the sort of intense connection I usually only experience after several days of backpacking.
I love cycling in Scotland but sometimes, usually early in the year, I have to escape to somewhere warmer and dryer. Where each ride doesn’t end with scraping a layer of dirty grit from soggy clothing, followed by a hosing down and re-lubricating of my long-suffering road bike.

The definition of a campervan is fairly straight forward with the Collins dictionary describing a campervan as; “a van which is equipped with beds and cooking equipment so that you can live, cook and sleep in it.” For us, a campervan is much more than that, it is the opportunity for adventure at a moment’s notice, it is a base for extreme sports, it is connecting with family and it is being that little bit closer to nature and that extra bit further from the rush hour traffic jam!
We caught up with Angus and Jayne who recently did their own conversion on their own brand new Transporter T6 camper. Their self-build campervan looks great using both of their skills to create a truly unique VW campervan.
